BCT supports vocational training for Ukrainian refugees

Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) is supporting initiatives of the Center of New Competences and the Fly Foundation to provide refugees from Ukraine with vocational training and opportunity to find employment in the port industry.
In addition to the financial aid, BCT is also extending technical support to the project by providing training equipment along with instructors to help participants acquire professional qualifications to operate port equipment like mobile harbor cranes, RTG cranes, rail mounted cranes, tower cranes, reach stackers, container trucks and forklifts.
The first batch of trainees, consisting mainly of women, has passed the exams and are now qualified to work as RTG crane operators. A second batch has already commenced training and are scheduled to take their final exams by the end of September.
Considering that more than six million people have crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border to seek refuge from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, BCT is honored to be part of an endeavor that helps refugees integrate into Polish society.
