BGT handles record monthly volume

Basra Gateway Terminal achieved yet another milestone after handling its largest volume for a single month last May.

BGT’s new monthly record mirrors the terminal’s commitment to customer-centric, safe and excellent service. BGT was also able to achieve and sustain high productivity levels on large vessels, achieving 95.29 moves per hour during operations on Evergreen’s 8,488-TEU Ever Lucent. With the continuing increase in trade volume and productivity, BGT constantly looks to improve its operational productivity and efficiency to maintain its competitive edge across the industry. With this new record, the Port of Umm Qasr can easily compete with the largest and most efficient ports in the world.
