Global Eng’g Head for Infra at Honduran special school for children

Nathan Clarke, ICTSI Head of Global Engineering – Infrastructure and Project Delivery, visited Centro de Educación Integral Municipal Emanuel (CEIME), a school for children with special learning requirements and abilities during his recent trip to Honduras.
Sponsored by Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana (OPC), the CEIME currently benefits 140 students – a number that is expected to soon increase as the school is designed to cater to more students in the long term.

OPC invested USD660,000 in 2019 for the construction of a new school facility, which was inaugurated last year by Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández. The company also provided all the equipment and is maintaining the facility’s air conditioning system throughout the duration of its concession.
Since starting operations in 2014, OPC has been supporting shared value initiatives and making valuable contributions to the Puerto Cortés community in the areas of education, health and environmental conservation.
