Manila Harbor Center’s (MHC) Emergency Response Team recently held emergency response exercises under the guidance of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)

Spearheaded by the NCR Fire District 1 – Gagalangin Fire Station, the exercises were the culmination of a two-day seminar on fire prevention, earthquake preparedness and rescue operations. Other MHC personnel also took part in the exercises to refresh their safety awareness and knowledge of basic life support and first aid.

“The safety of our people is our utmost priority. Arming employees with safety awareness will help them react responsibly to any emergency,” said Jennifer Olaer-Salazar, MHC safety manager.

The fire and earthquake drills were done in compliance with the 2008 Fire Code of the Philippines, which mandates educating people on fire safety protocols.
