BGT boosts productivity with new scanner

Basra Gateway Terminal (BGT) looks to improve truck throughput rates with the recent commissioning of a brand-new scanner.

Unveiled in early June, the new equipment is expected to enhance terminal security and productivity as BGT plans to conduct cargo scanning operations 24/7. This will dramatically improve customer experience and cut cargo delivery times by half.

With this development, BGT becomes the first terminal in Iraq to operate two technologically advanced scanners.

BGT is also in the final stages of another major project – the construction of a five-hectare yard – which, combined with the implementation of a new truck routing, will further improve the flow of cargo in and out of the terminal.
