BGT handles its largest oil & gas project cargo
BGT, in collaboration with DSV/Panalpina and Al-Rashed United Shipping Services Co., handled its largest oil and gas project cargo – a shipment for Basra Gas Company that includes pieces measuring up to 70 meters long and weighing up to 200 metric tons.
As Iraq’s oil and gas sector continues to grow, Basra Gateway Terminal’s (BGT) unmatched service places the terminal at the front and center when it comes to responding to the region’s development requirements. With Shell recently announcing its latest venture in Iraq – capturing gas flaring and increasing productivity – BGT is the natural choice for the unique challenge of handling high value and extensive cargo volumes.
The project, which aligns with BGT’s goals for Iraq’s future, will have an immense impact on Basra’s economic development by creating job opportunities and improving environmental conditions through the reduction of gas emissions. It will also help provide an ample supply of energy for future generations.
BGT’s exceptional productivity and focus on safe cargo handling for international projects continue to pave the way for more investments into the region and promote economic growth. These have allowed BGT to consolidate its position as the leader for project logistics in Iraq – always ready to provide unparalleled one-stop-shop service for the country’s oil and gas sector.
