BGT share meal packs with truck drivers to celebrate Ramadan
Muslims around the world celebrated the holy month of Ramadan by spending time with their families and loved ones. At the Port of Umm Qasr, where work never stops, Basra Gateway Terminal (BGT) took the opportunity to recognize and give back to the unsung heroes who tirelessly keep the economy moving forward.
BGT staff dedicated their time and energy to prepare simple Iftar meal packs, which were distributed among cargo truck drivers at the terminal as the mosques were about to chant the call for prayer to announce the end of the day’s fast. The meal packs consisted of drinks to help the truck drivers hydrate as they work under the glaring May sun, and dates – a traditional must-have at every Iftar and a reminder of home.
The meals were wrapped and distributed along with a heartening message from the BGT staff, who expressed their gratitude for the drivers’ dedication to their work.
