BIPI handles NGCP shipment

Bauan International Port, Inc. (BIPI) recently handled a shipment for the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

The shipment, unloaded from MV XIN DA QIANG on 29 August, comprised 188 packages including three transformer main bodies weighing 140 metric tons each, eight 20-footer FCL and other accessories.  MV XIN DA QIANG is represented by COSCO Shipping Philippines, Inc. 

Equipped with the skills and expertise in handling heavy-lift cargo, BIPI stevedores safely discharged the three transformer bodies and loaded them directly to the shipside barge SB RAC.  The containers and other accessories were unloaded at the pier side.  Logistics company Explorer Freight Corporation coordinated the delivery of the shipment to its destination in Pagbilao, Quezon.  

A subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), BIPI is a private-commercial port facility that primarily handles completely built units (CBUs), project and high and heavy cargoes, and export boiler parts and modules.
