CMSA holds bomb drill
Contecon Manzanillo’s (CMSA), in collaboration with the Naval Secretariat (SEMAR), conducted a bomb drill in March as part of regular security enhancement training to ensure the safety of cargo and personnel inside the terminal.
The exercise served to gauge the security team’s response to a bomb threat, as well as the identification and elimination of possible gaps in the terminal’s security measures.
During the drill, a group of federal public transport operators attempted to sneak a device inside the terminal. The SEMAR prevention team carried out truck inspections with the help of bomb-sniffing dogs to locate the device, alerted the port facility protection officer, and, upon finding the device, proceeded to conduct the emergency detonation.
Aside from the bomb drill, CMSA continuously conducts security training exercises to thwart security threats and ensure appropriate response to possible security breaches. The Company hopes to achieve its objective of zero incidents inside the terminal by continuously improving coordination with stakeholders and relevant security agencies.
