ICTSI Foundation keeps the dream alive for Don Bosco students

The ICTSI Foundation has extended financial assistance to 270 technical-vocational students at the Don Bosco Youth Center in Tondo to help them continue their education as the pandemic continues.

The Foundation shouldered the tuition of the students, who faced the possibility of dropping out from school due to the lack of sponsors. The students are taking up courses in Automotive Servicing NC II, Ref. and Aircon Servicing NC II, Housekeeping NC II and Food & Beverages Services NC II, Fitter Machinist (Machining NC II and Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II), and Bookkeeping NC III.

Prior to the Foundation stepping in, 116 students had dropped out as their distressed company-sponsors were unable to continue their support. Don Bosco, which provides quality technical education to underprivileged youth to help them find gainful employment, was also considering a temporary closure of their school operations.

The Foundation hopes that the 270 student-beneficiaries will be able to complete their courses and soon help their families. The Foundation also hopes for Don Bosco to continue their mission to help underprivileged youth uplift their lives through education.
